Question 1

What is Oshii, in one sentence?

Accepted Answer

Oshii is an iPhone and iPad app that turns the cooking videos you scroll on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts into clean recipes — measured ingredients, numbered steps, prep time and nutrition — neatly saved in the folder of your choice.

Question 2

How do I send a video to Oshii?

Accepted Answer

In TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, tap the Share button under the video, then pick Oshii in the list. The conversion takes a few seconds. You can also copy the link and paste it into the app — same result.

Question 3

Which social networks are supported?

Accepted Answer

TikTok, Instagram (Reels and video posts), and YouTube (Shorts as well as regular videos). We add new sources regularly based on your feedback — let us know which platform you'd like us to support next.

Question 4

Is Oshii free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the app is free to download and you can convert your first recipes without paying. An optional premium subscription unlocks unlimited conversions, multi-device sync, and advanced filters. You can cancel anytime, no questions.

Question 5

Can I use Oshii offline?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once a recipe is converted, it lives on your phone. You can cook offline — in a kitchen with no Wi-Fi, on the train, while travelling. Only the initial conversion of a new video needs a connection.

Question 6

What if a recipe is poorly converted? Can I fix it?

Accepted Answer

Of course. Every card is 100% editable: adjust quantities, edit steps, add a missing ingredient, change prep time. The AI does the heavy lifting — you always have the final word.

Question 7

Is the shopping list really sorted by aisle?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tick several recipes and Oshii merges identical ingredients (1 onion + 1 onion = 2 onions) and groups them by aisle: fresh produce, pantry, frozen, bakery. You hit the supermarket with one clean list.

Question 8

Are there filters for my diet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Filter your book by diet (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, low-carb, dairy-free, and more) or by meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack). Stack multiple filters to narrow down instantly.

Question 9

Are the original video creators credited?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every recipe keeps a link back to the source video and the creator's name. From the card, you can open the original video and go support the creator on their platform — that matters to us.

Question 10

How is my personal data protected?

Accepted Answer

You can delete your account in settings or from this website’s “Delete my Oshii account” page. That page explains which data is deleted or retained. Social-media and generated recipes are retained without a link to the account to enrich the catalogue.
